Whether your traveling for business or pleasure, there is no reason to let your fitness goals stagnate. Staying fit on the road is just as important as it is at home, potentially more so if you’re the kind of professional who travels frequently. It may seem like there is no time to fit in a workout without your usual routine, but with a little planning, it can be easy to stay fit while on the road.
Here are a few fitness tips from our trainer, Nate Fryer, to keep your goals on track:
- Utilize your Hotel’s Workout Facility. This may seem very straightforward, but most hotels have a nice workout center that many guests are not even aware of. When you check in, ask the employee at the front desk if there is a workout room and what the hours of operation are. Try to get in at least 15-20 minutes of cardio once a day while you’re traveling.
- The 300 Workout. This full body workout is great for while you’re on the road since you don’t need any equipment. Do 100 squats, 100 pushups, and 100 sit-ups throughout the course of the day. Pro tip – break up the sets into manageable sets of 15, 20, or 30.
- Invest in a TRX. Great for workouts anywhere at anytime. Whether you’re stuck in a hotel room or at the beach, TRX suspension training is great for any environment. It is a simple but useful tool that can easily fit into a backpack or suitcase. Hook the equipment on the back of a door or around a tree branch outside and use the resistance of your body weight to get in a good workout.
Now take these 3 simple and easy tips and incorporate them into your travel plans next time you’re on a business trip or vacation to see results on the road. And most importantly, don’t forget to pack your workout clothes!
